Jo Youngmin dan Jo Kwangmin mendapatkan pelatihan dibawah naungan Agensi JYP Entertainment selama dua tahun. Sejak 100 hari mereka menjadi aktor cilik, ‘Si Kembar’ telah tampil di lebih dari 300 CF.Ketika SMA, Donghyun membintangi Conduct Zero, sebuah variety show dimana enam pelajar SMA yang nakal berubah menjadi siswa teladan. Dia juga berada dalam Group Jepang untuk sebuah iklan.
Member pertama dalam group yang diungkapkan adalah No Minwoo. Rilis pada 22 Maret 2011, dia menjadi cameo dalam music video K.Will “Can’t Open Up My Lips”, bersama dengan penyanyi IU dan Lee Joon ‘MBLAQ’.
Dua hari kemudian, Starship Entertainment mengungkapkan sebuah foto dari dua saudara kembar identik, Jo Youngmin dan Jo Kwangmin. Diungkapkan juga bahwa mereka berdua, bersama dengan Minwoo, sebelumnya telah menjadi back dancer K.Will dalam program Quiz That Changes the World pada January 2011. Perjalanan debut mereka diungkapkan dalam program M! Pick. Teaser Music Video pertama mereka, “Let’s Get It Started”, dirilis pada 20 May 2011.
